Dear MAAWLE Members,
The countdown is on — just over 40 days remain until we gather in Hershey, Pennsylvania, for the 2025 MAAWLE Annual Conference! Excitement is building as we prepare for several days filled with professional development, leadership, and — perhaps most importantly — the chance to reconnect and share in the strength of our community.
This year’s conference promises to deliver something for everyone. We have lined up training opportunities led by experienced facilitators and subject matter experts who will guide us through interactive sessions designed to strengthen our skills, broaden our perspectives, and provide practical tools we can bring back to our agencies. We are especially proud to welcome nationally recognized facilitators in leadership, resilience, officer wellness, and community engagement — ensuring that every participant walks away challenged, inspired, and empowered.
Equally valuable are the opportunities to network and collaborate — to exchange ideas, mentor and be mentored, and build relationships that extend far beyond the conference itself. These connections remind us that while our roles may differ, our mission and commitment unite us.
Adding to the significance, this is an election year with multiple leadership positions open. Our future depends on members like you stepping forward with vision, dedication, and passion. Whether you are considering candidacy, nominating a colleague, or engaging in the voting process, your involvement strengthens MAAWLE and ensures our continued growth.
I would also like to remind you that award nominations are due by September 5th. This is a meaningful opportunity to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements, dedication, and service of your colleagues. Please take a few moments to submit your nominations and help us celebrate the remarkable individuals who exemplify excellence in law enforcement.
Set against the backdrop of Hershey, “The Sweetest Place on Earth,” this year’s gathering will be a time to recharge, reengage, and celebrate the incredible work being done by women across the Mid-Atlantic region in law enforcement.
I cannot wait to see familiar faces, welcome new members, and join together in training, networking, and leading the way forward.
With great anticipation,
Angie
President
Mid-Atlantic Association of Women in Law Enforcement
